Winter is here! Please make sure that your child is dressed to play outside. Students have been coming to school without jackets! Students should have jackets, hats, and mittens. It can get cold out there, especially when the wind is blowing! Once we have snow cover the students will also need snow pants and boots in order to play in the snow! Please let me know if you need help obtaining any winter clothing items!

Please continue to work with your students on both their addition and subtraction facts to 20 - if they are not automatic with those facts. Students can get extra practice through XtraMath!! Students should also be working on becoming automatic with their multiplication and division facts as well. We have been working on many strategies to help them with facts they are not yet automatic with! 

We are working on learning about our ecosystems and their characteristics. We will be presenting to our small groups this week. Then we will begin to learn about the Native Americans that lived in that ecosystem!

November

We have reached November and that means report cards and parent conferences! Report cards will be sent home on Friday, November 2nd. Conferences are schedule for Tuesday, November 6th. If you would like to sign up for a conference and have not yet, there is still time! Follow the link to sign up. Science

We have begun our science unit on biomes. Students will learn about animal classifications, food chains and webs, photosynthesis, and the various ecosystems in our world. 

Math

Please have your student practice their addition and subtraction facts if they are not yet fluent. They can use our class link to XtraMath. It is a great way to practice and it only takes a few minutes a day!
