Welcome to December!
Well, we are off and running into December. I hope that everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving holiday and break!
We are very busy in Room 207!!
We are continuing to work hard during reading. Every 6-7 days we dive into a new story, new vocabulary, and spelling words. With each story comes with a new skill to work on. This week we worked to draw conclusions from the story. We learned about folktales and the meanings that these stories have.
In math, we just completed Unit 3 and have moved onto unit 4 which will have us exploring measurement. We are still working on securing our addition and subtraction skills as well as beginning to work with multiplication and division. It is important that students know they basic facts as well as strategies for adding and subtraction 2 or 3 digit numbers. Any help you can provide you child would be beneficial.
A few friendly reminders!
Please remember to provide you child with a peanut/tree nut-free snack for snack time. Students may eat peanuts/tree nut snacks during lunch.
It is beginning to get colder outside. Please make sure that students have jackets, hats and gloves available. We will go outside for recess unless it is raining!
Book orders are due Friday, December 9th. You can also order online if you like.
Supplies Needed
The classroom is in need of a few supplies. We could use dry erase markers. We often use dry erase markers during math, as well as when we practice cursive and with 22 students, we go through a lot. If you are able to donate a marker or two, The students would greatly appreciate it! Thank you for your support!
