Happy Friday!

We have worked hard during this first full week of school.

We began the week with our spelling pre-test and continued our spelling homework all week. We will complete the week with our first graded spelling test. If you have any concerns or questions regarding spelling homework, please let me know.

The class spent time reviewing how to read a clock to the nearest hour, half and quarter hours, as well as down to the minute. We calculated elapsed time and determined how long our morning is. Math homework will continue to come home most nights. If you have any questions or concerns regarding math homework, please let me know.

We started our reading groups this week.

In Social Studies we continued our maps and globes unit. We learned about all seven continents, the north and south poles, the equator and even the hemispheres. Ask your student about Mrs. Harrington drawing on an orange!

A reminder that the Lincoln Street Open House is next Thursday from 6:30-8. I look forward to seeing as many of you as I can. We will discuss class routines, content areas, and student expectations.

Please feel free to reach out if you have questions. jharrington@sau16.org or 775-8897

Have a great weekend!
Jen
